3rd Student Film Festival, Young Cinema Art 2008 Jury Verdict
In 2008, for the second time the Young Cinema Art, Student Film Festival Jury was divided into two sections comprising the Professional Jury and the Student Jury. Below, the results of their deliberations.
It was with great satisfaction that the jury admitted that the artistic level of the films presented at the festival was very high. Nevertheless, to avoid unproductive, optimistic extolling of the works in question, the jury kindly requested the young cinema art students to use scissors without hesitation, while editing their future films.
Having seen and judged 59 films from 19 countries from all over the world, the jury of the 3rd World Student Film Festival/ Young Cinema Art, comprising Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Paweł Łęski and Alexander Trifonov, decided to give 7 joint awards:
·„Beyond the horizon”, dir. Kuba Czekaj (Poland, Wydział Radia i Telewizji, Uniwersytet Śląski, Katowice)- for an outstanding maturity in the way he employs the cinema language.
·„Suddenly Forever”, dir. Zbigniew Bzymek (Poland, Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera, Łódź)- for the main character’s credibility and and the way his world is drawn.
· „Broken Line”, dir. Chavdar Chernev (Bulgaria, National Academy of Theatre & Film Arts „Krustyo Sarafov”)- for the original aesthetics and the existential message of the film.
· “Don`t love me later”, dir. Andradina Azevedo, Dida Andrade (Brazil, Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado)- for her courage and her uncompromising nature.
· „The Sac”, dir. Arthur Videnmeer (Russia, Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography)- for the straightforwardness with which he speaks about the most essential issues.
· „Unseen”, dir. Masa Nasković (Serbia, Faculty of Dramatic Arts)- for having shown us the impossible
· „Pal/Secam”, dir. Dmitry Povoltotsky (Russia/ USA, Columbia University)- for truthfulness and his warm treatment of the characters.
The jury also awarded 4 special mentions:

2nd Student Film Festival, Young Cinema Art 2007 Jury Verdict
This year for the first time two parallel juries debated. The Professional jury comprised Grażyna Gradoń, Paweł Łęski, Marek Widawski, whereas the Student jury consisted of Barbara Mazurek from the Academy of Film and Television (Akademia Filmu i Telewizji), as well as Magda Szydłowska and Maciej Prykowski from the Warsaw Film School (Warszawska Szkoła Filmowa) and Anna Prokurat from the Federation of Independent Filmmakers (Federacja Niezależnych Twórców Filmowych).
Having seen 76 films from film schools from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Serbia, Turkey, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Israel and Poland the Professional jury unanimously decided to award 8 joint prizes:

While awarding the films, the Jury adopted two criteria: technical competence and originality of both the idea and the leading theme, as well as their skillful expression in the language of cinema. In the Jury’s opinion, the awarded films not only had to manifest certain technical competence, but were also supposed to mirror their authors’ personality.
